That Man Behind the Curtain: July 2013

And now, the secret numbers behind the mad science.

The Money Aspect

Amounts in parentheses are losses/expenses.

Hosting: ($17.06)
Stories: ($80.00)
Art: ($166.56)
Advertising: ($30.00)
Paypal Fees: ($10.07)
Donations: $15.00
Ad Revenue: $0.19
Book Sales: $12.74
Total: ($275.76)
YTD: ($2,411.47)
All Time: ($5,727.52)

As per usual, I try to list costs for art and stories under the month that the stories run on the site rather than when I pay them. I also cover Paypal expenses when paying authors and artists.

Submissions

In July we received 12 submissions, of which we accepted 6. An 50% acceptance for the month, 54.89% all-time.

This puts us at enough content to last us through early December.

Traffic

July had a total of 1,008 visits. Our traffic consisted of 705  unique visitors and 2,079 page views. Our highest daily traffic was  86 visits. It is, overall, comparable to last month. I’m assuming at this time that this is still the summer slump and things will pick up in September.

July’s search engine term for the month is “one week remaining.” I’d like to believe this is someone who thinks that’s all the time there is left in the world.

That’s it for numbers today. See y’all next month!
